ABOUT US
Who We Are
The Jesuits are members of an international Catholic religious order of priests and brothers, called the Society of Jesus. This group was founded by St. Ignatius of Loyola over 450 years ago. In the Australian Province today they are joined in their mission of service to faith, and the promotion of the justice which faith demands, by women and men who share this vision.
Education, pastoral ministry, social services and policy advocacy, ministry to refugees and asylum seekers, work with Indigenous communities, media and communications, and in the field of spirituality are some of the areas in which the Australian Jesuits are currently involved. Jesuits are expected to do anything or go anywhere to teach Jesus Christ and preach his Good News
